The decorations are down and packed away perfect time to reflect on a Christmas as dad.

Christmas eve we were snuggled up on the sofa the four of us watching Home Alone. Both kids getting a slight fright as they see the old man in the neighbourhood with the beard and shovel not realising he’s actually a nice old man. But then laughing their heads off as the robbers fall, trip, burn and all the other madness that goes in their failed attempt to rob the McAlister household. It was a moment. A new Christmas tradition set. Then getting the kids ready for bed in the Christmas PJs the excitement as we rounded up the carrots, cookies and milk for Santa and the reindeer. Once asleep Lauren sets up their prezzies ready and waiting for them in the morning.

Christmas morning came with kids shouting and jumping on the bed before heading downstairs to get stuck into presents. Surrounded by wrapping paper, toys, sweets and more there was a lot of joy before a special Christmas pancakes breakfast.

Christmas 2019 has been a beautiful reminder of everything that I want as a father. Being with my children, seeing their smiles and sharing their joy.

Passing memories and traditions to them that they can go on in years to come and hopefully one day enjoy with their own children. I’m a lucky man and extremely blessed.

Here’s to more of these experiences in 2020 and me sharing more of them with you the I have in 2019.
